Air to the Throne: Ready or not, Bronny is next up in the Kingdom LeBron Built

Nepotism is often seen as a terrible thing, but is it?  Nepotism is the act of granting an advantage, privilege, or position to relatives in an occupation or field. Similarly, legacy is the amount of money or property left to someone in a will.

By definition, these words should be used together more often.  Why not skip passing on the sins of the father and instead pass on the blessings?  To be in a position to make the road for your children a little easier to travel is a blessing and a privilege. LeBron James Jr. is currently experiencing the privilege of LeBron James being his father.

In 1995, Kevin Garnett became the first Black high school player to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.  In 2002, LeBron James became the second.  In 2003, he was the number one pick in the draft.

From that moment on, King James and his showtime basketball skills have kept us glued to our seats, but not without fierce and often unwarranted scrutiny. As the 2024 NBA Draft approaches, one name is generating a special kind of buzz: Bronny James.

While his talent and potential are undeniable, it's fair to say Bronny is far from ready for the NBA. But his father, LeBron James, has been the cornerstone of his journey to this pivotal moment.

From the moment Bronny picked up a basketball, he had the advantage of learning from one of the greatest players in NBA history. LeBron's dedication to his craft, work ethic, and understanding of the game have provided Bronny with a masterclass in basketball excellence. Growing up in the shadow of a legend could have been daunting, but LeBron has always emphasized the importance of carving out one's own path while benefiting from the wisdom of those who came before.

LeBron's support goes beyond just fatherly advice. He has been actively involved in Bronny's development, attending games, providing guidance, and even training with him. This hands-on approach has not only honed Bronny's skills but has also instilled in him a deep love for the game. LeBron's influence has ensured that Bronny is not just physically prepared for the NBA but also mentally equipped to handle the pressures and expectations of being the air to the throne built by King James.

Moreover, LeBron's stature in the basketball world has opened doors and created opportunities for Bronny that few other young players have. Playing at Sierra Canyon, a high-profile high school, and facing top-tier competition have given Bronny a platform to showcase his talents. LeBron's network and influence have facilitated connections with elite coaches, trainers, and mentors, providing Bronny with resources that are the envy of many aspiring athletes.

LeBron's vision for his son's career has also been strategic. He has balanced pushing Bronny to excel while allowing him to grow and develop at his own pace. This approach has helped Bronny mature into a well-rounded player, ready to take on the challenges of the NBA. The spotlight has always been bright, but LeBron has taught Bronny how to thrive under it, turning potential pressure into an opportunity for greatness.

And then there is the obvious.  LeBron James has made it clear that he wants to play in the league with his son. While LeBron has maintained excellent physical condition, Father Time is still undefeated.  If there is a chance to play with Bronny, it has to happen now.

The possibility of Brony joining his father after the 2024 NBA Draft directly reflects LeBron's commitment, mentorship, and unwavering support of his son. LeBron James has not only set the bar for basketball greatness but has also set an example of what it means to be a father, mentor, and supporter.
